2/17/2024 0 Comments Yamaha super tenere ecu flash![]() I might fix up a test ride of a new or newish one to see if I can tell. If folks are looking for major power increases through a 'flash' then I can think of better ways to blow my hard earned as I can only imagine the newer S10'S are pokey enough for most riders? If I had a much newer model then I would be proper brassed off if my bike behaved like that as Yamaha have had plenty of time to get it sorted and I know of no other models that do it? I had a 2018 Versys 1000 and no issues, a couple of newer ZZR14's and perfect so I would be surprised if newer S10's had throttle issues? I had no interest in any power increase and if there is I can't properly tell but I think there maybe a little bit, the bikes not a ripper anyway but just has plenty enough for all situations I reckon. The flash I have had done has sorted the bike and now its the bike it always should have been. I had come straight off a 2017 Africa Twin and you could creep along at 2mph if you wished and perfect throttle, no having to constantly dip the clutch to stop the pogo antics. it was just garbage bike behaviour pure and simple. Its not an 'experience' or 'learn to ride it' thing with that issue for older bikes, I have had god knows how many bikes over 40 odd years of riding and I could do nothing about my S10 behaving like a kangaroo in slow traffic or when trying to feed power back on gently on when negotiating a switchback for example. I think the fact that there are two threads running about ECU Flashes (I have jumped in here from the 'Jumpy Throttle Fixed' thread) says says something in its self.įor what its worth, if we are talking poor throttle response then I reckon its an issue for older models and especially Gen 1's like mine and the right 'flash' appears to be able to sort that. In the meantime, I'd say I'm fairing well in adapting my wrist to the undesirable fueling/power aspects. Planning on doing more research to investigate that aspect of the mod. I trust in the R&D put into this amazing bike and would hate to compromise the heart of it in any way. At this point, that's pretty much the only thing holding me up. I'm VERY interested in the combo of a Leo Vince or Yoshimura slippy and an ECU flash by 2 Wheel DynoWorks, BUT I'm curious about the implications of the ECU flash on the long-term integrity of the engine. ![]() spirited pace)ģ) Having a juuuust bit more smack up top (but please see point #1) I've ridden that bike and all the other big bore ADVs)Ģ) The abruptness of throttle accel and decel in Sport mode (quite an annoyance on corner exit at a uh. In my mind, what I'd like to change most about the power delivery is:ġ) My frame of mind (My wrist pairs better with the high RPM performance of the KTM 1290 Super Adv. These paces most recently included a ride from San Antonio, to the Ozarks in AR (hitting EVERY gold route in the NW corner), regular weekend twisty romps and also low speed/small space maneuvering courses (MSF). ![]() I've put it through a variety of paces except track and trail (trail is essentially N/A as it is a paved road tourer for me). ![]()
